  • The Bonnart Trust 10th Anniversary Conference: Tolerance in a Just and Fair Society

    June 20, 2012

On 20 June 2012, to celebrate and mark its first 10 years, the Trust hosted a major conference on ‘Tolerance in a Just and Fair Society‘ at the London School of Economics. The conference was held in cooperation with the Centre for the Study of Human Rights at LSE and with the support of the Sigrid Rausing Trust and Matrix Chambers. Some 200 people attended including 16 of the 19 FBB Trust Scholars and alumni, who came from around the world. It was chaired by Professor Conor Gearty, Professor of Human Rights Law at LSE, and included prominent speakers in the field of tolerance and human rights as well as presentation of their work by 4 of the Trust’s scholars. We were very honoured that the first event of the day was a keynote address by His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
